Working with watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and pastels, I like to call attention to colors which sometimes feel hidden. More and more, I want my art to reflect the life and vibrancy of all objects and ideas I portray. If I transform what I see through my art, I want it to make apparent to others what colors can be found in the small places there; and I want to inspire others to look into these colorful places with love: in the lines of a hand (which hold life as much as love), in a plate of corn and everything a shared meal represents, or pulled deep from the earth. These notes of color are a simple enjoyment, but at the same time, great riches woven into all existence. As a child I used to draw beauty from my head into the real world as if it didn't already exist, but now I make it my task to draw forth the real world into its beauty. We get one body just as we get one world. I aim to admire it in fullness and take care of the wonder I see.
